Honey Mustard – Mayonnaise Dressings

Making your own dressing is super easy and I find it to be much tastier plus more rewarding. Especially when your friends or family compliment it and you get to tell them that you made it.

All you need for a mayonnaise dressing (or creamy dressing) is 3 parts mayo, 1 part mustard, and and vinegar until you reach your desired consistency. After that the flavors and seasonings are up to you. You can add anything to that mixture to adjust. For instance I’ll take that and throw it in a blender with some roasted red pepper or chipotle peppers. Or just add some seasonings like salt, pepper, paprika, celery salt, oregano. You can use different vinegars or acidic juices as well (like apple cider vinegar or lemon juice) to change the flavor of your dressing. As an example I’m giving you my generic recipe for honey mustard.

Here’s what you need to make a few servings:

  • 1 T. Mayonnaise
  • 1 t. Dijon Mustard
  • 1 t. Honey
  • Apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 t. of salt
  • A dash of fresh ground pepper
  • A dash of paprika

Take the mayo, mustard, honey and put them together in a container. Then add about 1/2 t. of the vinegar and mix well with a fork or whisk. Do this 1/2 t. at a time until you achieve your desired consistency. If your dressing gets too thin for your liking you can add equal parts of mayo or honey to thicken it back up. What I use is dependent on the flavor. Sometimes I want a little more honey and I’ll just use that. Or I’ll do equal parts to even it out. Then mix in the salt, pepper, and paprika to taste.

That’s it. Dressing like this is supremely easy and generally always tasty. Comment below if you want any of my other cream dressing ratios or measurements.
